Nyabikongori Medical Centre is proud to announce that we are now fully accredited and accepting the Social Health Authority (SHA) cards for seamless billing and service delivery. This milestone marks an important step in our commitment to making quality healthcare accessible and affordable to every member of our community.

What is SHA?

The Social Health Authority (SHA) is Kenya's new social health insurance framework, established under the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023. It replaces the former National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and is designed to provide universal health coverage (UHC) to all Kenyans.

SHA operates through three key funds:

• Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) — for contributory members (employed and self-employed).
• Primary Healthcare Fund — to strengthen primary care services at the community level.
• Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund — to cover emergency and critical care for all Kenyans, regardless of contribution status.

1. Visit the reception desk upon arrival.
2. Present your valid SHA membership card or National ID.
3. Our staff will verify your membership through the SHA portal.
4. Receive your consultation or treatment as usual — billing is handled directly with SHA.
